Byron Courts, Director of Engineering Services for Melvin Mark Companies, contacted TraneOregon about replacing an existing chiller at the Crown Plaza Building, an 11-story, 256,000 square-foot building in downtown Portland. TraneOregon proposed to install a new high-efficiency, 400-ton chiller with a factory mounted adjustable frequency drive. Completion of an energy study revealed a simple payback of eight years in addition to a tax credit refund.
Within three months of receiving a purchase order for the job, TraneOregon’s CTS department finished the project, including installing a refrigerant monitor and upgrades of the equipment room per mechanical code.
Byron Courts called the replacement project “well organized,” with “good communication on all levels.” He also noted that the TraneOregon service technicians, as well as the subcontractors, did a “great job,” and that “TraneOregon delivered what was promised.”
